It is called a "Polish diamond". There is only one place in the world where the striped flint is found – it is the east part of Świętokrzyskie district, north and east of Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski. It has 2 main components: opal and chalcedony. The striped flint has 3 very important precious stone’s characteristics: striking appearance, decorability, and hardiness. Colours: grey, yellow, brown or black with characteristic stripes. It is considered a stone, which can give people energy and power. It has therapeutic properties. This is an "optimistic stone". Nowadays the striped flint is willingly worked by the jewellers and inserted by them in silver. It is very popular in many countries. |
